BillMate AI Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 18, 2026

BillMate AI helps users scan, save, organize, and analyze receipts and bills. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices available to users.

Information We Collect

BillMate AI may collect or process the following information:

BillMate AI does not intentionally collect account passwords, bank login credentials, credit card numbers, government IDs, or other information that is not needed for receipt and bill management.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

AI and Third-Party Processing

When the user uses AI assistant or Insight features, relevant bill data, receipt text, spending summaries, or user questions may be sent to a third-party AI service provider to generate a response. The app may also use network services for currency exchange rates or OCR-related processing where applicable.

Users should avoid uploading receipts or entering information they do not want processed by these services. AI-generated responses are for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional financial, tax, investment, or legal advice.

Local Storage

Bill and receipt records are stored on the user's device unless a feature requires network processing. Free usage counters may be stored in the device Keychain. Deleting the app may not remove Keychain-stored usage counters.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. BillMate AI receives subscription entitlement information from Apple to unlock paid features. We do not receive or store the user's full payment card details.

Data Sharing

We do not sell user data. We may share limited data only when necessary to provide app functionality, such as processing AI requests, retrieving exchange rates, verifying purchases through Apple, complying with law, or protecting the app and users from abuse.

Data Retention and Deletion

Bill records remain on the user's device until the user deletes them or removes the app. Data sent to third-party services may be handled according to those providers' retention practices. Users may delete bill records inside the app where supported. For privacy requests, users may contact the developer using the support contact listed on the App Store product page.

Children's Privacy

BillMate AI is a general-audience app and is not specifically directed to children. The app does not require users to create an account or provide age information. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information for advertising or profiling. If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information through the app, they may contact the developer using the support contact listed on the App Store product page.

International Processing

Information may be processed in countries or regions other than the user's location, depending on the services used to provide AI, OCR, currency, purchase, or infrastructure features.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate.
